Special Educational Needs and or Disabilities
At Varna Community Primary School we are committed to creating an inclusive environment to ensure that all children meet their full potential. In addition to this we have a SEN Teacher who works in our 'Beehive' and 'Nurture' classrooms with children from EYFS & KS1. At Varna we work with a variety of external agencies to provide the correct support for your child. Alternative provision
At Varna Community Primary School we have two altrernative provision spaces called the 'Beehive' and 'Nurture' classrooms. These spaces are used for children in EYFS and KS1 who may struggle in the mainstream classroom for a variety of reasons. Children have individual timetables and may access these spaces on a full or part time basis depending on their needs. Have a look at the video below for more information on this provision.
Coffee Mornings
We have created a programme of coffee mornings over the year to support parents of children with SEN/D. Please see the flyer below for upcoming dates!
On Wednesday 13th March we had a lovely coffee morning with Kim and Jenny our Speech and Langauge therapists that work in Varna on Wednesdays. Thank you to everyone who came and participated. Please click here for a link to the powerpoint and see below in the files to download for the resources they shared.
Thank you to everyone who came to our coffee morning on 16.01.2024 with Dr Teresa Regan, Educational Psychologist. Feedback from parents that attended was very positive and everyone found this session really useful. Dr Teresa Regan shared a document with us that has links to useful resources. Please see this below in 'Files to download' labelled 'Resources for parents'. We look forward to our next coffee morning on Wednesday 13th March at 9am with Kimberly Chu, our speech and langauge therapist.
Our first coffee morning was held 08/11/23 and was a great success! We welcomed Ali from the Local Offer Team who showed us how to access the website and newsletter. She also highlighted the events on in the near furture and the drop in sessions. Thank you to everyone that attended our coffee morning and we hope to see you again at the next one on Tuesday 16th January at 9am where we will welcome Dr Teresa Regan, Educational Psychgolgoist.
